36XX Girard Ave N Tuesday 9/4/12 0642hrs 12-280006
MFD responded to a vehicle fire at this location. The owner’s husband went out to work on the van & noted the windows were smoked up & there was fire at the rear of the van when he opened the driver’s door. He went to the back of the van & put the fire out with a gallon jug of water. It was learned that an air compressor; an almost empty gas can; 4 Hitachi nail guns; & a GPS unit were missing from the vehicle. The intentional fire was likely the result of a thief pouring gas on tarps to cover up evidence. The fire was limited, but there was heavy smoke damage to the van. Estimated damage was $1000 & stolen items--$2000. No suspects. No injuries.

33XX Logan Ave N Saturday 9/8/12 0230hrs 12-284877
Officers responded to the above address on a Stabbing between AP1/ male, 23 yrs, & V1/male, 25 yrs, over an altercation that took place earlier in the day. AP1 was upset because his dog was taken by Animal Control for biting a child. V1 sustained 15 puncture wounds during the fight. S1 fled the scene but later turned himself in to police at the 4th Pct. V1 required surgery for his wounds

V1/female, 21 yrs, came into the 4th Pct to report she had been Assaulted at the above location by 2 female cousins & 2 unknown black males. V1 had been drinking with her relatives at the address when her 2 female cousins initiated the altercation. S2/female, 27 yrs, punched V1 in the face & S1 hit V1 in the back of the head. The 2 males, 26-27 yrs, held V1 down while S1 & S2 kicked & punched V1 in the head & face several times. V1 was sent outside & made contact with officers, but only stated she wanted to go to her dad’s house. V1 was very DK & made no mention of an Assault. V1 stated she went to the hospital before making this report. V1 had black eyes & scratches on her chest, but no broken bones.

26XX Logan Ave N Saturday 9/8/12 2030hrs 12-285729
Officer was dispatched to 26XX Logan N on a Person with a Gun call. Officer was flagged down by V1/male, 56 yrs, who was holding a rag to the side of his head. V1 had a deep cut that went into his scalp. V1 stated he was acquainted with both S1 & S2/ males, 25 yrs, as he has done car work on S2’s car. V1 stated S1 gave him $35 to repair the brakes on a vehicle & S1 was angry that V1 had not had time to repair the vehicle. S1 & S2 entered V1’s residence & S1 threatened to kill him. V1 gave S1 the money back that he demanded, but S1 was not satisfied & struck V1 in the head with a handgun. Before leaving, S1 stood in V1’s yard & fired one round. V1 refused medical, stating his son would take him to the hospital. The suspect vehicle was located & towed to the Impound Lot for investigation.

26XX 36th Ave N Sunday 9/9/12 1215hrs 12-286497
Officers were dispatched to the above address on an Assault. V1/female, 20 yrs, suffered a 1” long cut to her forehead that required stitches. V1 stated S1/female, 18-25 yrs, hit her in the head with a glass cup after an argument about V1 owing S1 $50. Paramedics arrived on the scene & treated V1 & she was later brought to the hospital. S1 was GOA.
Fremont Ave N & Lowry Ave N Tuesday 9/4/12 2000hrs 12-281327
V1/male, 20 yrs, was walking in the above area when he was approached by 3 unknown males, 17-20 yrs. S1 pulled out a pocket knife & put the tip on V1’s face, then told him to empty his pocket. V1 pulled out his phone & cigarette lighter & told suspects that was all he had. S2 searched V1’s pockets, while S3 acted as a lookout. Suspects took the phone, valued at $100 & the lighter, & fled on foot. V1 was not injured.
Irving Ave N & Lowry Ave N Tuesday 9/4/12 2105hrs 12-280804
V1/male, 26 yrs, stated he was driving NB on Irving Ave N with his windows down when 2 unknown males, 18-20 yrs, approached him as he came to a stop sign at the above location. V1 stated the unknown suspects reached into his vehicle with a pair of pliers & robbed him. One of the suspects held the pliers to V1’s face, causing a minor cut on the side of his face, while the other suspect rummaged through V1’s pockets. Loss was a wallet; $60 in cash; 3 scratch-off lottery tickets; ID, etc… After the Robbery, V1 jumped out of his vehicle & yelled for help. V1 refused medical attention. Suspects were GOA.
26th Ave N & Emerson Ave N Tuesday 9/4/12 2123hrs 12-280821
Officers met V1/female, 26 yrs, who was sitting in her vehicle at the above intersection. V1 stated she was on Emerson, facing NB at 26th, waiting for the light to change when 2 unknown males, 16-24 yrs, approached the open passenger side window of the vehicle & S1 put a shotgun into the window. S1 demanded V1’s purse. S2 reached in the back seat & stole V1’s purse. Both suspects fled on foot. Loss included V1’s purse valued at $100; $500 in cash; a ring valued at $150; & misc. ID & bank cards.
25th Ave N & Emerson Ave N Thursday 9/6/12 1835hrs 12-283092
MTC police met V1/female, 45 yrs, who stated she was on an MTC bus, reading a book on her Kindle when unknown S1 attempted to steal it from her. V1 managed to hang on & shout. S1 continued to steal the Kindle & dragged V1 & the Kindle off the back of the bus. V1 let go of the Kindle, realizing she could not compete with the large suspect. S1 ran with the loss & V1 got back onto the bus, where the driver made a call to Transit Police. V1 twisted her ankle during the incident but declined medical attention. The value of the Kindle is approx. $200. A request has been made for a download of the bus video.
24XX Thomas Ave N Thursday 9/6/12 2036hrs 12-283110
V1/female, 29 yrs, was getting out of her car in front of her address & saw unknown S1/male, 17 yrs, coming from between 2 houses towards her. S1 produced a semi-automatic handgun & demanded V1’s money. V1 stated she would & fumbled with her purse. S1 then snatched the purse from V1 & fled on foot. V1 stated he had a hoodie over his head & he would be hard to ID. Loss included misc. credit cards; biz. cards; & a $300 cell phone belonging to V1’s mother. V1 was not injured.
41XX Oliver Ave N Thursday 9/6/12 2335hrs 12-283363
V1/male, 22 yrs, stated he was called to deliver a pizza to the above location & when he pulled up in front of the house, he observed 2 unknown males, 17-23 yrs, approach him. S1 spoke to V1 & dug in his pockets. S2 punched V1 in the nose, knocking him to the ground. Unknown S3/male, emerged from somewhere & all the suspects held V1 down while going through his pockets. Suspects stole V1’s cell phone; DL; $18 belonging to Domino’s Pizza, & the pizza. Suspects all fled on foot. V1 returned to the store with a bloody nose, but refused medical attention. The cell phone is valued at $500.
36XX Penn Ave N Friday 9/7/12 1131hrs 12-283770
V1/male, 19 yrs, was waiting at the bus stop at 36th & Penn Ave N when he was approached by unknown S1/male, 17-21 yrs, who grabbed his cell phone from his pocket. V1 struggled with S1, but S1 pushed V1 & ran off with the phone. The phone is valued at $300.
32XX Penn Ave N Friday 9/7/12 1658hrs 12-284114
Officers were dispatched to a Domestic Assault in progress at the above location & learned it was a Robbery of Person & not a Domestic. V1/male, 25 yrs, stated 5 unknown males, 18-20 yrs, came up from behind him & hit him in the head. Suspects took V1’s wallet containing $450 in cash & removed the cash before throwing the wallet on the ground. Suspects fled on foot. V1 stated no weapons were involved.
38XX Bryant Ave N Saturday 9/8/12 2216hrs 12-285852
Officers responded to the report of shots fired in the area of 39th & Colfax Ave N & located V2/male, 35 yrs, who had a rag wrapped around his ankle. V2 told officers he was playing pool with friends in the garage at the above location when 3 unknown males, 20-25 yrs, with hoodies, came in & ordered all the people to give them their money. V2 fled from the garage & heard one of the males say “shoot him.” V2 heard a gunshot & felt pain in his ankle, but fled home. V2 was transported to the hospital via ambulance. V1/male, 26 yrs, suffered a minor gunshot wound to an area near his eye. No loss. Suspects were GOA.

Officers responded to a Robbery of Person & met V1/male, 35 yrs, who stated 2 unknown males, 18-25 yrs, robbed him at gunpoint of $99. V1 attempted to give suspects just a few dollars at first, but S2 demanded he turn his pockets inside out. Suspects fled with
29th Ave N & Upton Ave N Sunday 9/9/12 0120hrs 12-286247
Officers responded to the hospital to meet the victim of an Assault. V1/male, 49 yrs, stated he was riding his bike in the above area when he was approached by at least one male, 20-30 yrs. V1 was ripped off his bike & held on the ground. V1 stated his wallet & his bike were missing. V1 was unclear if one or more parties assaulted him & stole his property. Officers located V1’s bike with a broken chain. V1 had minor cuts & scrapes. V1 had trouble remembering the incident & was advised to phone police if he remembered more.
49XX Camden Ave N Sunday 9/9/12 1500hrs 12-286606
Officers were dispatched to a Theft report & met V1/male, 34 yrs. V1 stated he was on his front sidewalk when 2 unknown males, 15-19 yrs, approached him from behind & S1 grabbed his necklace. V1 tried fighting him off but S1 was able to break the chain & ran off with the medallion part of the necklace. V1 refused medical attention & stated he was not hurt. The medallion is valued at $500 & has a Buddha on it.

36th Ave N & Emerson Ave N Wednesday 9/5/12 2339hrs 12-282146
Officers initiated a Traffic Stop on a vehicle that failed to signal a turn. AP1/ male, 24 yrs, pulled over, and then drove off again. As AP1 fled, a side door opened & AP2/ male, 27 yrs, jumped out of the car. Officers saw that AP2 had a revolver in the back of his pants. AP2 ran & was apprehended by officers. The gun that was observed earlier was located on the path where he fled. AP1 kept driving & stopped, where he was removed from the vehicle. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle. It was learned that AP2 was an Unregistered Predatory Offender & the gun he had was stolen. AP2 was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons, PC R & C, & CSCREG.

30th Ave N & Emerson Ave N Monday 9/10/12 0138hrs 12-287064
AP1/male, 16 yrs, was observed riding on the street without a light on his bicycle. AP1 appeared to be in violation of curfew & was also observed trying handles on vehicles. Officers attempted to stop AP1 & he fled on his bike. AP1 dropped the bike & then fled on foot, throwing something onto the concrete. AP1 was apprehended & a loaded revolver was found in the path where AP1 ran. AP1 also had a small amount of marijuana on his person. AP1 was booked in JDC.
