19XX Lowry Ave N Tuesday 8/28/12 0235hrs 12-271624
MFD responded to a structural fire at this location. The building is vacant office space & it was a small fire involving plywood boards used to cover up windows. The structure is old & run down. Fire did not gain entry to the interior of the building. MFD determined the cause was Arson & that it was not accidental. Estimated property damage is $100. No suspects. No injuries.

20XX Emerson Ave N Wednesday 8/29/12 1941hrs 12-273573
Officers responded to a stabbing & located V1/male, 30 yrs, with rags around one forearm & calf. V1 stated he was at an uncle’s residence & he got between 2 uncles to break up a fight. V1 then left the dwelling & as he walked down the street, known S1/male, 38-40 yrs, exchanged words with V1 then attacked him with a broken bottle. V1 sustained cuts to his stomach, calf area, forearm & shoulder blade.
V1 ran to his girlfriend’s residence & waited an hour before notifying police. Paramedics tended to V1 at the scene, then transported him to the hospital via ambulance. S1 was GOA.

40XX Bryant Ave N Saturday 9/1/12 0512hrs 12-276746
Officers were dispatched to a stabbing at the above location & were met at the door by V2/AP1 /male, 30 yrs, who walked down the front steps with a stab wound on the rear of a leg. AP1 told officers that S1/V1/female, 28 yrs, texted him to come over. AP1 believed V1 had been drinking & stated he was concerned for the welfare of his children. AP1 went to the residence & V1 got upset & stabbed him in the leg. V1 stated she never invited AP1 over & that she currently has an Order for Protection against AP1 & he broke it by coming to her residence. V1 stated an argument ensued & AP1 hit her all over & threw her to the ground. V1 was able to stab AP1 in the leg with a knife. AP1 was transported to the hospital for his injury then booked in HCJ for PC 5th Degree Domestic Assault & Violation of the Domestic No Contact Order.

9XX Logan Ave N Monday 9/3/12 1532hrs 12-279245
Officer responded to a Shots call near Oak Park & Logan Ave N & was flagged down by W1/male, 37 yrs. W1 stated he saw 2 males on the grass next to his car parked on the street. S1/male, 21 yrs, fired several rounds from a handgun & both males then ran several houses away. Officer checked the grass & then walked to his squad where he found 5 --- 40 caliber rounds on the street. A SUV parked in the area had the driver’s window freshly broken out, but unknown if it was from gunfire. Officer learned other officers had numerous men on the ground at gunpoint near 10XX Logan N & that there was a shooting victim at the hospital. V1/male, 23 yrs, was uncooperative & 9 suspects were ID’d & released. V1 sustained a non-life threatening leg wound.

9XX 7th St N Monday 9/3/12 2325hrs 12-279779
Officers responded to the listed address on the report of a person with a gun & met V1/female, 23 yrs, who stated she met the tenant of an apt. in this building. V1 stated they had several sexual encounters prior to this incident. V1 stated she left S1’s bedroom to get a glass of water & S1 became upset, worried that she would wake his kids. When V1 returned to the bedroom, S1 pointed a semi-automatic handgun at V1, telling her he was going to get her out of there. V1 left the apt. & provided S1’s phone number to police. An officer called S1 & told him to step outside the building with his hands in the air. S1 opened the door, but refused to step out of the apt. Officers were able to handcuff S1 & remove him from the apt. S1 stated he refused to give V1 money before they had sex & V1 became upset. S1 stated he told V1 to leave his apt. S1 told officers he did not own a handgun & gave officers permission to search his apt., vehicle, & garage. No weapon was found & S1 was released at the scene.

8XX 21st Ave N Tuesday 8/28/12 2005hrs 12-272379
Officer responded to a Robbery of Person at gunpoint & met V1/female, 49 yrs, who stated that as she was walking up to the above address, she was approached by 5 unknown males, 18-25 yrs. One of the suspects asked V1 if she would sell her Louis Vuitton purse for $100. When V1 said no, S2 walked over to the suspect vehicle, a black Dodge Magnum, & pulled out a 9mm handgun. S2 handed the gun to S1, who pointed it at V1 & took her purse from her. All suspects fled in the Magnum. V1 was not injured. V1’s purse is valued at $1500.

5XX Newton Ave N Wednesday 8/29/12 1912hrs 12-273530
Officers were dispatched to an Assault in progress & located V1/female, 43 yrs, along with RP1/female, 16 yrs. V1 was crying & upset. V1 spoke limited English, but stated she was walking with her child when she was approached by unknown S1/male, 19-25 yrs, who grabbed a gold necklace around her neck & pulled it off. S1 then fled on foot. RP1 witnessed the incident & ran to help V1 & called 911. V1 was not injured. There was no value provided for the gold necklace with medallion.

Dowling Ave N & Penn Ave N Thursday 8/30/12 1200hrs 12-274248
V1/male, 25 yrs, was on his bike in the above area when he was approached by 3 males, 20-24 yrs. V1 knows the suspects from them selling drugs in the area. S1 & S2 approached V1 on foot & S1 said he lost a bike just like the one V1 was riding. S1 told V1 to get off the bike & when V1 refused, S1 hit him in the face with a closed fist. S2 & S3 then grabbed the bike & suspects left. V1 refused medical.

42nd Ave N & Fremont Ave N Friday 8/31/12 0742hrs 12-275301
V1/female, 21 yrs, went into the store at this location to use the ATM. Unknown S1/male; 20-26 yrs also entered the store & left prior to V1. S1 was at the bus stop & as V1 passed him, he pulled out a small folding pocket knife & demanded the money V1 had in her hand. V1 stated she put most of her cash in her bra & had only $30 in her hand. V1 handed over the cash & S1 fled with V1 chasing him. The store has video of S1 & V1 inside & will provide a copy to officers. V1 was not injured.

21XX Glenwood Ave Friday 8/31/12 1730hrs 12-275843
While working off duty at the Penn-Wood market at the above address, officer was approached by V1/male, 71 yrs, who stated he had just had his wallet taken from him. V1 said he purchased something & was putting his wallet back in his pocket when unknown S1/male, 22-26 yrs, grabbed the wallet from his hand & fled the store. V1 stated the wallet contained $25 in cash, his SS card, & green cards. Employees at the store stated they did not see the incident, but it should be on the surveillance tape. V1 was not injured.

Officers were dispatched to a Robbery of Person & met V1/male, 32 yrs, who stated 4 unknown males, 18-22 yrs, punched him in the face & stole his gold necklace. V1 stated he had seen the 4 males loitering near his restaurant for several hours prior to the Robbery. V1 left the restaurant to get in his car for a food delivery & S1 walked up behind him, punching him in the side of his face. S1 punched V1 4 to 5 times before he grabbed V1’s 24K gold necklace & tore V1’s shirt. Suspects fled on foot. The necklace is valued at $500. V1 refused medical attention.

26XX Logan Ave N Saturday 9/1/12 1505hrs 12-277107
Officer was dispatched to the above location on a Robbery of Person & met V1/male, 14 yrs, who stated he was walking with his girlfriend when they were approached by 4 males, 14-17 yrs, S1 pulled a black handgun on V1 & demanded his football hat. S1 then grabbed the hat off V1’s head & tried to grab a cell phone from his hand that belonged to V1’s girlfriend, W1. V1 refused to give up the cell phone & the suspects all fled. V1 stated he knows S1 & S2 from attending school with them in the past. V1 stated S2 was telling S1 to give the hat back. No injuries. The hat is valued at $30.

26th Ave N & Lyndale Ave N Sunday 9/2/12 0730hrs 12-278146
V1/male, 55 yrs, was in the above area & saw a girl he knew so he began talking to her. 3 unknown males, 20-25 yrs, approached V1 & asked for a cigarette. V1 pulled cash out of his pocket when he grabbed the cigarettes. V1 stated he was then choked, kicked, & punched in the head while suspects went through his pockets. The loss was $350 in cash. V1 is homeless & stays at Higher Ground. V1 believes the girl was involved. V1 went to the hospital for treatment, but officer did not see any marks on him.

21st Ave N & 4th St N Sunday 9/2/12 1200hrs 12-278503
Officers responded to the hospital to meet the victim of a Robbery at the above location. V1/male, 13 yrs, stated he was walking down the street when he was hit in the face by an unknown suspect. V1 fell to the ground & dropped his cell phone, which S1 picked up & ran away. V1 had minor swelling on the side of his face. No suspect info.

Logan Ave N & Olson Mem Hy Monday 9/3/12 0027hrs 12-278767
Officers responded to the Robbery of a person at the above location & met V1. V1/male, 47 yrs, stated he got off the MTC bus & was followed by 6 unknown males, 18-24 yrs, Suspects struck V1 repeatedly & robbed him of $1000 in cash; his ID card; & cell phone. Suspects then fled on foot. V1 got in the back of the squad & officers checked the area, but could not locate the suspects.

25th Ave N & Irving Ave N Tuesday 8/28/12 1937hrs 12-272349
Officers were dispatched to the above location on a person with a knife & observed the described party with a knife in his hand. As AP1/male, 14 yrs, observed officers, he threw the knife in some bushes near his side. AP1 was taken into custody. AP1 was given a Juvenile citation & dropped off at the Juvenile Supervision Center. The knife was recovered & inventoried.

Cedar Lake Rd S & Sheridan Ave S Thursday 8/30/12 0215hrs 12-273976
Officers observed a vehicle commit 2 turn signal violations & show a white light to the rear. Officers initiated a Traffic stop & AP1/ male, 19 yrs, the front seat passenger, had something in his hand that he appeared to be concealing from officers. AP1 appeared nervous & was ordered out of the vehicle. AP1 admitted having a “K2” synthetic marijuana cigarette in his hand. A vehicle search was completed & a loaded .38 revolver was found under the seat. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons.

Officers received information that AP1/ male, 27 yrs, was in possession of a handgun. Description info was provided on AP1 & that he was riding a bicycle. AP1 was taken into custody without incident. A handgun was recovered nearby. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons.

15XX Broadway Ave W Friday 8/31/12 2143hrs 12-276198
Officers were dispatched to the rear of the above location on 7-8 suspicious people loitering around. Officers observed several males & as officers turned into the alley, they observed AP1/male, 21 yrs, near the back passenger side of a vehicle duck down briefly & then stand up. AP1 was the only party near this part of the vehicle. Officers were able to take everyone into custody without incident & when they checked the area where AP1 ducked, they located a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun. There was one live round in the chamber. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons. AP2/male, 32 yrs, & AP3/ male, 19 yrs, were booked in HCJ for misdemeanor warrants.

31XX Morgan Ave N Monday 9/3/12 2202hrs 12-279667
Officers were on routine patrol when they observed several people in the parking lot of 1818 Lowry N (Full Stop Gas Station). As officers pulled into the lot, several people began to disperse & unknown S1/male, 17-24 yrs, caught officer’s attention as he left the area while holding his waistband. Officers followed S1 who quickly looked back at the squad & began to run. One officer pursued S1 on foot, as officers had no doubt he had a gun in his waistband. Officers commanded S1 to stop, but he continued to flee. S1 tossed a semi-automatic handgun in the process & officers recovered same. S1 was observed entering a house at 31XX Morgan Ave & officers received a verbal consent to search the duplex. S1 was not located. The recovered gun was inventoried.

52XX Dupont Ave N Monday 9/3/12 2232hrs 12-279705
Officers were dispatched to a Person with a Gun call at the above location & Dispatch aired the description of a vehicle at the scene containing the gun. After a high risk felony stop, AP1/female, 24 yrs, was taken into custody. A loaded semi-automatic pistol was found in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons. AP2/female, 24 yrs, was cited & released for DAS.
