V1/female, 26 yrs, was located DOA inside the above address. S1/male, 23 yrs, was known to V1.

15XX Washburn Ave N Monday 7/16/12 0040hrs 12-220115
MFD responded to a vehicle fire at this location. The car was fully involved, with the fire spreading to the engine compartment as well as the entire interior of the car. The owner was not present. MFD determined that gasoline was the probable accelerant & that the incident was Arson. The damage is estimated at $7000. No suspects. No injuries.

36th Ave N & Girard Ave N Tuesday 7/10/12 1138hrs 12-213179
This is a BIAS crime. V1/male, 20 yrs, & V2/male, 22 yrs, were shot at because of their sexual orientation. Victims do not know S1/male, 32 yrs. S1 fled the scene in a dark green Yukon. No injuries.

30th Ave N & 4th St N Friday 7/13/12 0137hrs 12-216653
Officers responded to a shooting at the above location & located V1/male, 27 yrs, who stated he had been shot in the leg. It appeared he was shot in the calf & there was no exit wound. V1 stated he was standing outside a vehicle & several males approached him on foot. S1/male, 18-30 yrs, muttered something to V1, pulled out a handgun & shot V1 in the leg. V1 ran & someone called 911 for him. V1 was transported to the hospital via ambulance. When questioned, V1 told officers he felt he was set up, but only could provide limited information on a female that he knows who may be involved. Wound was non-life threatening.

40XX Fremont Ave N Friday 7/13/12 0335hrs 12-216733
Officers were dispatched to the above location on the sound of shots fired. V1/male, 39 yrs, yelled out of his 2nd floor balcony that his front window had been shot at. Officer followed V1 to his 2nd floor duplex where he showed officer the damaged window in the living room. There was a large fragment of a bullet lying on the floor. V1 stated he was sleeping in the back bedroom when he awoke to the sound of several gunshots being fired nearby. V1 was not injured & stated he does not believe there is anyone he is currently having issues with. Officers found 4 spent shell casings across the street from the duplex. Officers did not locate any other victims or damage. No suspect information.

Officers responded to a gun-pointing incident & parties on the scene pointed to the above address as the residence where the party with the gun lived. Three juveniles stated they were walking their dogs in the area when dogs at the Logan address started barking at their dogs. AP1/male, 37 yrs, came out & pointed a shotgun at the juveniles. The house was surrounded &AP1 was taken into custody AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Assault 2.

Officers were dispatched to the above location in regards to a party being threatened with a gun. V1/male, 28 yrs, stated S1/male, 20-26 yrs, an acquaintance, pulled out a gun & stated he was going to “pop” V1 with it. Earlier, V1 accused S1 of stealing his cell phone & an argument ensued. When S1 produced the gun, V1 ran in fear & S1 got in a vehicle & drove away. S1 & the vehicle were not located. V1 was not injured.

Officers were assigned to a shooting call & located V1/ male, 26 yrs, lying on the rear porch of the above address. V1 stated he was assaulted & shot at several times. V1 could not tell officers what happened to him. V1 was given medical treatment by North Memorial, on the scene. V1 stated he is a member of the “60 Crips” gang & thinks another gang called the “30 Crips” was the ones that shot at him. No further information.

Officers were dispatched to the above location regarding a party armed with a gun. On arrival, officers observed a large group of males & it appeared S1/male, 54 yrs, was GOA. V1/male, 25 yrs, stated he was standing on the street with his friends, next to S1’s vehicle, which was parked. S1 came out of the apt. complex & approached V1 & witnesses. S1 pulled out a semi-automatic gun & pointed it at V1 as he yelled a racial slur. A witness phoned 911 while S1 got into his vehicle & fled the area. No injuries. A KOPS alert was issued.

Broadway Ave W & Fremont Ave N Thursday 7/12/12 0550hrs 12-215416
Officers were dispatched to the above location on a stabbing & located V1/female, 36 yrs, who was holding her hand, which had been stabbed. V1 stated she met up with S1/male, 30-40 yrs, & he pulled out a pocket knife while demanding her purse. V1 said no & S1 lunged at V1’s stomach, which hit V1’s hand instead. V1 pushed S1 to the ground & he got up & ran. V1 was transported to the hospital via ambulance. Nothing was stolen from V1. S1 was GOA. Wound was non-life threatening.

39TH Ave N & Lyndale Ave N Thursday 7/12/12 1455hrs 12-215871
Officers were dispatched to a bike theft from the bike rack of an MTC bus. Information was that the victim was chasing the suspects. Officers met with the bus operator & were unable to locate the victim at first. V1/male, 29 yrs, spoke with officers & stated he was riding the bus when the bus driver noticed 4 males taking V1’s bike off the rack. V1 chased the 4 suspects. One of the suspects hit V1 in the back of the head & the 4 were able to get away with V1’s mountain bike valued at $80. Officers checked the area & were unable to locate the suspects or bike. V1 was not seriously injured.
ROBBIZ (Crystal Nails) / DAS / No Proof of Insurance
11XX Broadway Ave W Thursday 7/12/12 1642hrs 12-215995
AP1/female, 20 yrs, was in the listed biz getting a manicure & pedicure. When her nails were done, AP1 refused to pay, stating she wasn’t satisfied. AP1 was verbally abusive toward employees before taking a bottle of nail polish & leaving. Approx. 15 minutes later, AP1 returned with a box cutter & when she tried to take more nail polish, V1/male, 45 yrs, blocked her path. AP1 held the box cutter to his face then sprayed him in the face with a bottle from the biz containing acetone. AP1 swung the box cutter at V1, causing him to fall. AP1 fled the scene in a vehicle driven by AP2/female, 21 yrs. Officers stopped the vehicle & V1 was driven to the area where he positively ID’d AP1 as the Robber. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Robbery. AP2 was cited & released for DAS & No Proof of Insurance. V1 suffered a bruised/scraped elbow & eye irritation.

V1/male, drove to Star Foods at the above location, along with his niece, W1. Several parties approached V1’s vehicle in the parking lot & asked if he had change for $5. V1 took his wallet out & S1/male, 19-21 yrs, grabbed the wallet. When W1 asked for V1’s wallet back, S3/male, 23 yrs, produced a semi-automatic & told W1 not to get involved or she would get shot. All suspects fled on foot. A party on the scene was able to provide information on S3 & a copy of the store video was property inventoried, along with a receipt used by S3. No injuries. Suspects were GOA.

35th Ave N & Fremont Ave N Sunday 7/15/12 0020hrs 12-219305
Metro Transit was dispatched to the hospital on an Assault /Robbery report. V1/male, 30-40 yrs, had a friend translate for him. V1 stated he exited a bus at the above location & a group of males, 16-18 yrs, punched him & pushed him down. These parties then continuously kicked V1. V1 stated they were not on the bus with him. Suspects stole V1’s wallet containing $80 in cash, ID, & a Wells Fargo check card, as well as his cell phone. A nurse told officer that V1 suffered a brain bleed, broken nose, orbital fracture, & other facial fractures. The nurse told officer that V1’s injuries would get worse through the night & were very serious.

Broadway Ave W & Bryant Ave N Sunday 7/15/12 0220hrs 12-219188
V1/male, 25 yrs, stated he was robbed by 2 unknown males while standing on the NW corner of the above location. V1 stated he observed the parties exit an SUV & one of them grabbed V1 around his neck choking him while retrieving V1’s wallet. The other suspect stood by while this was going on & both parties fled on foot, getting back into the SUV, which sped off. V1 stated the loss included ID; a TCF bank card; & $22 in cash. A squad car in the area located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle & the occupants were detained. V1 positively ID’d AP1/male, 25 yrs, as the party who robbed him. AP1 was booked in HCJ. V1 refused medical attention.

34th Ave N & Fremont Ave N Sunday 7/15/12 0235hrs 12-219209
V1/male, 44 yrs, was walking in the above area when he was approached by 2 unknown males, 18-20 yrs. The suspects demanded everything V1 had & S1 punched V1 in the face. Suspects obtained V1’s laptop bag containing a laptop computer valued at $900, as well as V1’s house key. Suspects fled on foot & got into a tan, boxy vehicle which sped off. V1 declined medical attention.

Officers responded to the above intersection regarding a Robbery of person & met V1/female, 42 yrs, who was standing by her vehicle. V1 stated she was driving in the area when a vehicle lightly tapped hers from behind. V1 pulled to the side of the road & unknown S1/male, 20-29 yrs, exited a gray, unlicensed SUV. S1 talked to V1 briefly before forcefully pulling a gold necklace valued at $300, off her neck. S1 got back into the vehicle in the rear passenger area & the vehicle fled. V1 was not injured & there was no damage to her vehicle. S1 was not located.

Officer was dispatched to the above location on a Robbery of Person. V1/male, 46 yrs, stated he was waiting at the bus stop when he was approached by 2 unknown males, 18-22 yrs. S2 punched V1 several times in the back of the head. V1 stumbled into the middle of Penn Ave N & fell. Suspects grabbed V1’s backpack & fled the scene. The backpack contained CD’s; a CD player; headphones; & prescription medication. V1 refused medical treatment. Suspects were not located.

Officer was dispatched to a Robbery of Dwelling at the above location. Unknown S1/male, forced in the back door, pointed a gun at V1/male, 28 yrs, & then fled. V1 was sleeping upstairs when he heard pounding on the back door. V1 saw unknown S1 standing on the stoop with a semi-automatic handgun, which he pointed at V1’s chest. V1 slammed the inside door & held his back to it as he called 911. S1 fled the area. There was no loss. V1 was not injured. S1 was not located.

V1/female, 59 yrs, was driving her vehicle in the above area when 2 unknown males, 20-30 yrs, struck her vehicle from behind. When she got out to talk to them, S2 snatched a gold chain from around her neck. The suspects then got back into their vehicle & fled the scene. V1 was not injured. The necklace is valued at $300. Suspects were not located.

43rd Ave N & Fremont Ave N Tuesday 7/10/12 2355hrs 12-213929
Officers noticed a vehicle following so close to the rear bumper of the squad, they could not see their headlights. Officer pulled to the curb to allow the vehicle to pass. Officers immediately recognized the license plate number with the information that the driver, AP1/male, 25 yrs, was wanted for a Murder 2 Warrant out of Ramsey County & was known to carry weapons. A felony stop was initiated & AP1 was positively ID’d as the person with the murder warrant. A search of the vehicle netted a handgun under the front passenger seat. AP1 was booked in HCJ on the Felony Warrant & for PC Weapons.

Officer was parked in a squad completing a report in the above area & heard 4 shots from a gun. Officer immediately observed a vehicle driven by AP1/male, 19 yrs, drive away from the shots location. Officer pulled behind the vehicle & made a stop. AP1 was ordered out of the car at gunpoint & taken into custody. Officer recovered a loaded .32 handgun under the driver’s seat along with 4 empty shell casings & a handgun case. AP1 booked in HCJ for PC Weapons.

Officer was conducting surveillance in the above area & observed a large group of males & females standing in the middle of the street. The group would not move out of the way when vehicles wanted to get through. Vehicles had to move to the side of the road to avoid the group. AP1/male, 16 yrs, was observed putting his hands in the air as a vehicle passed. Officers called for marked squads to stop the group for blocking the street & interfering with traffic. AP1 fled on foot & was observed throwing a gun to the ground. AP1 was detained & booked in JDC for PC Weapons. 8 other juveniles were cited & released for Curfew Violation.

Plain clothes officers were conducting surveillance in the above area & requested a uniformed officer in a marked squad, stop AP1/ male, 19 yrs, for Loitering. Officers approached AP1 & he admitted that he had a gun inside his backpack. AP1 was ID’d & transported to HCJ to be booked for PC Weapons. The recovered gun was a Magnum pistol.
